Tips + FAQs
There are several things you can do to ensure your candle burns smoothly and evenly.
- Trim wick to 1/4” before each lighting.
- Allow wax to melt to all edges of candle to prevent “tunneling” down the center.
- Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time!
- Always burn candle on an even, heat resistant surface and stop burning when approximately 1/2” of wax remains. Melting wax past this point can cause the wick to float.
FAQs
What makes Cause Candles different from other soy candle brands?
Not only do we pour 10% of our candle profits back into Central IN causes, but we also use all-natural ingredients. Our candles are crafted with premium soy wax that holds fragrances well. We also use clean scent blends made with essential oils and an all-cotton wick.
How do different climates affect soy candles?
Varying levels of humidity (especially during the summertime) can lead parts of the soy wax in a candle to pull away slightly from the glass. You may see a few of these "wet spots" on the sides of your candles, but this is perfectly normal, even among other soy candle companies, and is a result of the wax expanding and contracting due to the climate/temperature.
Do Cause Candles expire?
Nope! But note that the tops and sides of your candle may change color slightly as it cures over time.
How do I ensure the perfect candle burn?
As mentioned in the 'Tips' section, make sure your first burn allows the wax to burn all the way to the edges of the jar to avoid tunneling. Also, burn for no more than 4 hours at a time, keep your wick trimmed to 1/4th inch. Also, stop burning when their is approximately a half inch left to protect the bottom of the glass and whatever it is sitting on. This also keeps the wick from floating near the end of your candle's life. You can use a utencil to dig out the wax to add to a wax melter.
